What drew me to Amgen is really, really sincerely and authentically a company that puts patients at the center.

Our aspiration as a company is to be the best human therapeutics company in the world.

We don't aspire to be mediocre or just average. We want to be the best.

To be science-based means to be data-driven.

Science is what I do here. Science is what drives discovery.

Being science-based means we use an analytical approach to ask tough questions and solve complex problems.

We compete every day to provide a competitive advantage.

We motivate each other, we challenge each other so that we can perform our best.

To be ready to compete, but at the same time, we have to do it in a very respectful way.

Amgen brings value to patients by bringing safe and effective molecules.

You're not just looking at how you can make dollars, you're really looking at what is the science behind it and how can you achieve something for patients.

Amgen finds a way to reward the people. It's not only financially, but it can also be by providing feedback, by really recognizing the people.

Compliance and ethical behavior is not the option. It's a kind of a fundamental and a basic things.

We see it's not the ends that justify the means. It's how we get there that's just as important.

Trust and respect is one of the fundamental Amgen values. It's also essential for what we do at Amgen.

The company trusts that we will do a good job. The company trusts in our engagement.

I am seeing that quality is one of the most important things.

Amgen has a deep commitment to quality, whether it's designing programs and protocols to actually manufacturing the medication and then executing on the delivery of those products.

Without the collaboration of not just different teams, but I'd say different teams in different countries, we wouldn't be who we are today.

Working teams also means trust and support other team members to make critical decisions.

I like the sentence that says that alone you go faster, but together you go further.

What we feel now is a sense of community.

Collaborating, communicating, and being accountable is about engaging all of the stakeholders and keeping them involved.

It's important that we have diverse teams, that we trust each other, and that we collaborate at all levels.

To me, it means sharing your perspectives, listening actively to everyone else's perspectives and standing behind your work.

It's the science behind the molecules. It's the team, the friends that I have within the company.

It is also extremely satisfying to know that what you do gives such a significant contribution to the lives of others. That what you do is really meaningful.

A belief that we can bring the best out of each other to ensure that we do the best for our products and hence for our patients as well.
